so i finally got around to getting the Boscia Black Mask at Sephora the other day. tried it on last night and it’s not too bad. it is a little freaky when you first squeeze the tube and this black ooze comes out, but eh, who’s looking (hopefully not your roommates). you do have to put on a generous amount though because otherwise it won’t peel off right.
after you slather it on and sit and wait for about 20 minutes—all the while looking like A) The Man in the Iron Mask, B) you’ve got blackface on, C) you’re getting ready for an S&M party, D) all of the above—you peel it off and oggle at the dead skin and other impurities that were once on your face but are now stuck on the back of the mask. my skin felt really smooth after and not at all irritated or dry even though i am of the super sensitive/dry variety.
so, i’m looking forward to wiping off the New York City grime with this mask every now and then. my only quibble is: if only you didn’t have to use so damn much every time.
